‘In the PLAYground’ Nominated for iD Emerging Designer Award and Presented at Dunedin Fashion Week in New Zealand

Pei-Wen’s MA graduation collection, ‘In the PLAYground’ marks the inaugural collection of The Tangram, the innovative modular clothing line within our brand peiwenjin. This collection has been selected as a finalist for the iD Emerging Designer Award and was showcased at the iconic railway runway in Dunedin, New Zealand.

Inspired by the essence of the childhood toy Tangram puzzle, ‘In the PLAYground’ celebrates the diversity and simplicity by using the same geometric pattern pieces to create multiple garments and accessories in a playful way. All the pattern pieces fit together like a giant Tangram, allowing all the fabrics to be used efficiently without any waste. ‘In the PLAYground’ nothing is lost, everything is transformed. The wearer can assemble and recreate their own garment by threading the string through the loops at the edge of each piece. Garments will no longer be limited to one style but will have endless possibilities to last longer in different silhouettes.
